I have the black vinyl, and yes there is a lot of non-fill, especially at the start of both sides, indicating a hasty pressing process and poor quality control. This results in a lot of crackle at the start of both sides. I do kind of like the psychedelic shoegaze and nostalgia for the 60s in this album, though I don't listen to it very often.
Can someone who has the black vinyl version comment on whether their copy is noisy? By noisy I mean noisy static filled lead-in on both start tracks on either side.
I have a black vinyl copy and it's noisy. Probably same transfer as the clear
Is this the black vinyl version? Is it any better than the clear one? My clear copy has extremely noisy lead in on both sides, and this is a common issue.
I have the clear vinyl pressing. It is noisy. I wonder if the black vinyl version is any better
Mine too. I took mine back and the second copy was just as bad. A whooshing sound in the lead in to both side A and B.
Sorry but I do not understand! I listen only vinyl and it is absurd that the prints are so bad! The productions or artists do not realize the poor quality of the prints on vinyl? I'm not forced to buy more records unfortunately! A lot of prints are very bad!
This pressing sounded pretty good in my opinion. A few pops and clicks here and there, but overall a great listen.
these comments for clear vinyl ?what about regular black vinyl ?
ANY vinyl pressings from Jagjaguwar no matter color - are bad
sigh - sadly, this band is still allowing this horrible label (Jagjaguwar) to release their vinyl. the vinyl will most certainly have surface noise and flaws equalling a total waste of money....UPDATE: As expected from this label this pressing is a disaster. A1=G extremely noisy lead-in, 6 tics at end; A2=VG+ noise at end; A3=VG+ 1+ multi-rev tics, noisy; A4=VG noisy; A5=VG+ multi-rev tics / B1=G extremely noisy lead-in, multi-rev tics; B2=NM; B3=VG+ B4=NM; B5=VG+ 1 loud pop, noise at end; B6=NM; B7=NM (ends abrupt with a click - intentional?)
Can I confirm whether yours was the clear vinyl or not?
Yep, extremely noisy lead in one two separate copies. I messaged the band about it, and I suggest everyone tweets and messages them on Facebook. They do read and reply.
I've heard quite a few people slate Secretly pressings, I've always found them to be well pressed.
Captain America
So... you haven't heard it yet? I have a few jagjaguwar releases and they're fine?
Jagjaguwar is not so bad, is it? For example, black mountain and early wolf people are well pressed!
